Physical Rehabilitation

Just as humans may need physical therapy for various conditions or following injuries, so might our canine and feline companions. Physical rehabilitation is helpful for pain management, maintaining and improving functions and mobility. Rehab promotes geriatric wellness for our senior pets, and aids in nutrition, weight loss, and athletic conditioning.

Conditions that may benefit from physical rehabilitation include:

  • Post orthopedic surgeries
  • Neurological conditions
  • Trauma and injury
  • Chronic arthritis
  • Obesity
  • Mobility-related issues

Treatment services:

  • Gait analysis
  • Underwater treadmill
  • Exercises for home care, and daily management
  • Exercises for stretching, range of motion, and flexibility
  • Conditioning and strength training
  • Laser therapy

What is laser therapy? Laser therapy, also known as cold laser, therapeutic laser or low-level laser, is most commonly used to reduce swelling caused by arthritis, reduce pain, and promote healing. Intended to help the body heal itself, dogs and cats respond well and often relax during treatment. Pets remain awake for the 30-minute process and get to sport fancy protective goggles to protect their eyes from the laser beam.

Pet Laser Therapy may also be combined with other treatments such as acupuncture, physical rehabilitation, and/or medication. Results can be seen after only a few treatments. Ask our care team if your pet could benefit from this unique therapy.
